In a shocking update, top director of Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was attacked on the sets of 'Padmavathi' yesterday in Jaipur. The director was reportedly slapped, beaten and his hair was pulled by the agitators.
The attackers were identified the members of Rajput Karni Sena, a local caste based organization. The protesters alleged that the director was showing Rani Pamini in a bad light and was canning the romantic scenes between Rani Padmini and Alaudin Khilji. Further, they claimed the director indulged in distortion of historical facts. The director, however, assured the agitators that he wouldn't twist the historical facts.
The movie features Deepika Padukone as Padmini. Shahid Kapoor and Ranvir Singh played other key roles. This is Bhansali's new historical film post the release of 'Bajirao Masthani'.
