Distressed and disappointed by the functioning of the Telangana Joint Action Committee, the Telugu Desam Party leaders have finally decided to dissociate themselves from the JAC in fighting the Telangana issue.
According to Tdp senior leader Erraballi Dayakar Rao, the Tdp leaders of Telangana region have no faith in the leadership of JAC convener Kodandaram. Instead of uniting all the like-minded parties over separate Telangana issue, the JAC is toeing the line of Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Erraballi remarked.
The JAC had expelled the TD in the past, but the TD leaders declared that they would continue to work with the JAC. However, after two weeks, the TD leaders found themselves uncomfortable working with the JAC and declared their dissociation with the JAC.
The Congress had already walked out of the JAC and now the TD has already bid adieu. The BJP and the Left were never part of the JAC. Hence, it is now only the Telangana Rastra Samithi, which remains a part of the JAC.
