Raghuveera seeks Naidu's clarification for apologies

Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy on Wednesday asked Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu to clarify as to why he was apologising to the people during his Vastunna Mee Kosam padayatra.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Raghuveera Reddy said Naidu should clarify whether he was feeling apologetic for betraying NTR, diluting NTR's welfare schemes, ignoring the welfare of farmers or for non-implementation of the promises that he made to the people. Stating that the people have got fed up with the statements of leaders like Naidu, he advised the TDP chief not to bring disrespect to the concept of Padayatra which was given by Mahatma Gandhi.

When asked about his opinion on the padayatra launched by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy before 2004 elections, Raghuveera Reddy claimed that YSR fulfilled all the promises that he made during his padayatra and those welfare schemes were still being implemented by the Congress Government. He refused to comment on the padayatra being launched by YSR's daughter and YSR Congress party leader Sharmila. He said the motives of Sharmila's padayatra were still not clear and he would react on the same at a later stage.
