Thalapathy Vijay Mania Grips Vijayawada as Tamil Nadu CM Gets Grand Welcome

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay’s visit to Vijayawada on October 13 drew considerable attention, with large numbers of fans gathering to catch a glimpse of the actor turned politician. His arrival in Andhra Pradesh for official engagements created a buzz, reflecting the popularity he enjoys beyond Tamil Nadu.
Vijay later visited the famous Kanaka Durga Temple atop Indrakeeladri and offered prayers during a special puja. Priests welcomed him with traditional honours, while devotees cheered and greeted the Chief Minister. The visit added a spiritual stop to his packed schedule in Vijayawada.
The key agenda of Vijay’s visit was his meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to discuss interstate water sharing concerns. The talks were expected to focus on Krishna River water supply to Chennai under the Telugu Ganga project, alongside proposals involving the Godavari, Krishna and Cauvery rivers.
Tamil Nadu’s annual allocation under the Telugu Ganga agreement is 12 thousand million cubic feet of Krishna water, intended partly to meet Chennai’s drinking water needs. Reports indicated that the state had received only around 2.25 TMC by October 9. The discussions could prove important for water security and cooperation between the neighboring states.
