Vijay Deverakonda Ranabaali Gets Censored

Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming period action drama Ranabaali has cleared its censor formalities with a U/A certificate, surprising fans who expected A rating. The film’s runtime has reportedly been fixed at 170 minutes, making it a two hour and 50 minute theatrical experience packed with historical drama, action and emotional storytelling.
The film’s intense promotional material has raised expectations for hard hitting action sequences, with Vijay Deverakonda portraying a fierce character fighting British rule in Rayalaseema. However, the U/A certification has sparked speculation that director Rahul Sankrityan has balanced the violence with family emotions and a strong narrative. The certificate alone does not confirm the film’s overall tone.
Director Rahul Sankrityan previously impressed audiences with Shyam Singha Roy, starring Nani, which blended period drama with emotional storytelling. Expectations are now centred on whether Ranabaali can deliver a similarly engaging narrative alongside its action sequences. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, while Mythri Movie Makers is backing the ambitious project.
Ranabaali is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, with US premieres planned for October 15. Music by Ajay-Atul adds to the film’s promotional appeal. With the Dasara holiday period approaching, audience word of mouth and opening weekend occupancy could play a major role in determining its box office performance.
