Shankar Rao denies writing letter against CM

Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao on Monday denied having written a letter to Congress high command seeking action against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and other ministers for their involvement in corruption.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Shankar Rao said that there was no truth in those reports and some media organisations have launched a malicious campaign to tarnish his political image. He said the letter which some channels have claimed to possess was 'bogus'. He appealed to the Chief Minister to order a high-level probe into the issue within 24 hours.

Shankar Rao suspected that someone might have misused the letter head which was stolen from his office. Stating that he has already lodged a complaint in a police station about the stolen letter head, he blamed the police for not initiating prompt action on his complaint so far.

“I am ready to cooperate with the investigation officials to prove my innocence," the Minister said.
