Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stated the party would become a strong force within next six months and will effectively tackle the ruling Congress in the Local Body elections.

Talking to media persons in the concluding day of the two-day workshop `Medho Madana Sadassu’ at NTR Trust Bhavan, Mr Naidu stated the party had elicited views and suggestions of senior leaders over the people’s problems and for strengthening the party at grassroots level.

The TDP chief pointed out the party would take a final decision on the suggestions and views after discussing thoroughly in the party politburo meeting.

He disclosed that three committees have been formed to look into people’s problems and for staging agitations to force the government to solve these problems.

The former chief minister added that the committees would prepare an action plan and strategy to be adopted to force the government out of its slumber over the people’s problems. The implementation of the action plans will take the party closer to the people, the TDP chief said.

He also disclosed that the workshop resolved to provide the qualitative 9 hour power to farmers, Rs 10,000 compensation for farmers per acre in the event of natural calamities, and make efforts for improving standard of living for farmers if it comes to power in the next elections.

Responding on Local Body elections, Mr Naidu said that TDP would not have alliance with any party in the elections.
