Rashmika Mandanna who was mentioned as 'National Crush' a year ago shot to pan India fame with Pushpa Part 1 The Rise. Two of her Bollywood films got released recently and she didn't created much impact with her character choices. Same happened with her recent Tamil film Varisu. She was starred opposite Thalapathy Vijay in Varisu and she promoted the film whenever she got a chance. Everyone thought Varisu might be her big ticket film to Kollywood. Though Varisu became a big hit in Tamil Rashmika didn't get any credit in the film's success. Speaking to scribes, Rashmika said she know there isn't much scope for her role in Varisu / Vaarasudu except for a couple of songs but the only reason to agree the film is Vijay.
When she was asked why she agreed to do Varisu though her role has less importance, Rashmika replied, " Yes I know about it. But it is purely my own decision. I okayed the film only for Vijay. I like him a lot, I only did Varisu to share screen with him. I know that my role didn't have much importance in the film except for two songs. But, I wanted to prove my presence with those songs only. Even during shoots I used to joke with Vijay sir that I don't have much to do in the film except the songs. I knowingly did that film. I used to observe and learn even small things on the set. As an actor I should do all kinds of films. That's why I did this commercial entertainer. I am satisfied working for Varisu ", Rashmika said.
Rashmika won praises for her energetic dance moves in Jimmikki Ponnu and Ranjithame songs. Her latest bollywood film Mission Majunu with Siddharth Malhotra is currently streaming on Netflix. Her upcoming lineup includes, Ranbir Kapoor - Sandeep Vanga's Animal and Allu Arjun - Sukumar's Pushpa Part 2 The Rule. She will join Pushpa 2 sets from February.
