Strictly speaking...after the exit of Mumaith Khan from Tollywood's Item Songs circuit, Charmi and other babes who were fading quickly as heroines are left surviving on spicy dance moves. Now, a decision from Government to define some strict boundaries for these Item Songs before issuing the Censor certification might effect their income sources. The gang-rape case in New Delhi and complaints from National Commission for Women has forced the Government and CBFC to take up this measure.
Certification of songs is now a must before the certification of entire film. If A certificate is granted, then the movie should not be allowed for telecast on TV. When analysed from Item Songs point of view, CBFC thinks that Item Songs are not suitable for television viewers during general viewing hours. In fact, small item song clips on TVs served as big promotion for those films but Censor may rectify such titillating stuff from here on. Very recently even Hansa Nandini and Piyamani also turned item babes.
