The recently concluded 20th edition of the Chennai District Masters Athletic Championship not only showcased the incredible athletic prowess of its participants but also garnered attention for the presence of several prominent Kollywood stars.

Among these stars, Aishwarya Rajesh took everyone by surprise as she revealed her impressive sports background. She disclosed, "I used to be an athlete and have competed at the state level in running, javelin throw, and swimming events. Despite the demands of my acting career, I understand the importance of staying active in sports. I diligently follow a fitness regimen under the guidance of a coach." Aishwarya emphasized the significance of exercise, particularly for women, stating, "Physical fitness should be an integral part of everyone's life."

Arya, a fitness enthusiast and influencer, who graced the event, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I never miss this event. The dedication and motivation of the participants here are truly inspiring. Watching my friends compete makes me wonder if I would have taken fitness as seriously as I do now if I weren't in the cinema!"

The Championships also witnessed remarkable performances from celebrities. M Shenbagamoorthy of Red Giant Movies secured the gold medal in the 60+ category for the 100-meter run, while V.S. Chinnasamy clinched second place in the 85+ group for Javelin Throw. Notable personalities like Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Tejaswini, and Mayilvaganan IPS were also in attendance, adding star power to the event.

A distinguishing feature of these Championships is its open-age format, allowing men and women above the age of 30 to compete. This year, the event featured the oldest male athlete at over 95 years old, and the oldest female participant at over 80 years old, highlighting the inclusive and age-defying spirit of the competition.
