Vidyarthi Movie: Artists Review
All the actors worked hard to make an impact on the screen. Chetan Cheenu looked natural and tried to come up with a realistic performance. Bunny Vox is ok in the role of a village belly. Others like Naveen Neni, Yerra Raghu Babu, Yadamma Raju, Tirupathi Sre, Adusumalli Jwala Koti, Jiva, Manichandana, and Arun performed according to their roles.
Vidyarthi Movie: Technicians Review
Vidyarthi's story readied by Madhu Madasu is a love story in a rural backdrop highlighting the issues like village politics, college fights, fights between two groups, caste politics, and finally honor killing. Madhu Madusu seems to have drawn inspiration from various hit films of the past and also from Kollywood director Vetri Maaran's Asuran etc for his project.
Drawing inspiration is not wrong but the execution coupled with a strong story and the script is requisite. The entire first half treads on a predictable note with college scenes, student fights, romantic track, etc, and at the end of it, the rivalry between two families is shown. One gets a feeling that they are watching a soap opera of the 80s. The second half picks up the pace a little bit but after a couple of twists, once again the pace dips, and the routine scenes and elements test the patience of the viewers.
Dialogues written by Madhu Madasu, and Naveen Kola are just routine. They should have used the thought process more to come up with more impactful and powerful dialogues to elevate the scenes. The screenplay is predictable and nothing excites and increases the curiosity levels. The pre-climax and climax are emotionally loaded but actors just pass through the motions after all the routine elements.
Kanna PC with his cinematography showed the rural beauty of Bapatla in a beautiful and appealing manner. He used camera angles to get the beautiful scenic locations to give a realistic feel. Vijay Bulganin with his background music created a feel for the rustic love story. The songs in the film are situational and are melodiously tuned. The lyrics are thought-provoking and few touch the hearts of all. The songs are beautifully shot. Bonthula Nageswara Reddy's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many drags in the film and repetitive scenes that showed the pace of the narration. Production values of the Mahas Creations banner are decent.
Vidyarthi Movie: Advantages
- Few Scenes
- A couple of Songs
Vidyarthi Movie: Disadvantages
- Predictable Story
- Editing
Vidyarthi Movie: Rating Analysis
Altogether, Vidyarthi is a routine entertainer resembling 80s soap opera. Madhu Madasu with Chetan Cheenu tried to score a rustic hit with Vidyarthi just like how Vetri Maaran did with Asuran. They, however, failed to realize that just including village romance, honor killings, and caste differentiation alone will not turn the project into a big hit. It needs a powerful story, impactful dialogues, stunning screenplay, and direction. But the makers came a cropper on all these fronts. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1 Rating for Vidyarthi.
