USA Becomes 1st Country To Breach 1 Lakh Cases

United States of America (USA) becomes the first country in the world to breach disastrous mark of 100,000 novel Coronavirus cases. While it took 64 days to reach 50,000 corona cases, it took just 3 days to surpass 1 lakh mark from 50K.

The US now has more COVID-19 cases than any other country after more than 16,000 corona infections were reported in a single day, mostly in the New York City.

The number of people infected with the Coronavirus in the United States hit almost 104,000 early on Saturday, with the number of fatalities close to 1,700, pushing the global death toll up to 27,324.

Italy jumped to second place with around 86,500 cases, followed by China and Spain. Italy recorded a sudden spike in Coronavirus deaths, with 969 new victims which is the worst daily record for any country.

The number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 887 in India with the death toll rising to 20, while 73 people have recovered so far.
