Police Commissioner Ak Khan on Friday disclosed that a special team has been constituted to nab the author of a letter threatening harm to State High Court Chief Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru.

Talking to reporters, Mr Khan said that he was confident that the special team would be able to achieve a breakthrough in the case in two to three days.

He said five suspects have been picked up as part of the investigation into the case.

The Chief Justice had received the letter last week which had threatened to physically harm him following his remarks after the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Telangana Lawyers had boycotted court proceedings on March 8.

The lawyers were protesting against the attack on their colleagues allegedly by TDP activists at the Indira Park, when they went there to demand TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu to spell out his party's stand on the vexed issue of statehood for Telangana.

Mr Khan had already given orders to increase the security of the Chief Justice and also strengthened security at the High Court premises.
