The prime minister Narendra Modi, as is known, proclaimed some relaxations from 20 April which ensure resuming the activities of industries, agriculture and a few other sectors. Accordingly, based on the intensity of the spread of coronavirus pandemic, the country has been divided into green, orange and red zones. The relaxation of lockdown rules are availed by the people of green and orange zones.
However, the AP and the Telangana governments have preferred contrasting routes. The AP government released a G.O. delineating just 97 red zones while 579 more are declared green zones. Transport of goods and people, revamping industries, building, construction, irrigation and many other economic activities will be allowed amid some restrictions ensuring social distancing.
Telangana CM KCR, however, is reluctant to give aforementioned relaxations in green and orange zones. He wants to continue imposing strict lockdown until May 3. Yet, the final decision will be taken only after the cabinet meet scheduled on Sunday.
Altogether, AP CM Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision assures the strengthening of the state's economic system while there will surely be a steep decline in Telangana's economic growth and the consequences will be witnessed by the people in near future.
