Indian celluloid witnessed two big hits this year with a short gap of just one week and they are Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' and Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'. Comparatively, 'Bajranji Bhaijaan' is far bigger than 'Baahubali' in many aspects.
'Baahubali' was made with an all time record budget of Rs.130+ crores and the makers shelled in this money for its breathtaking visuals. The movie has collected a gross of Rs.470 crores world wide including all of its versions at the end of its three weeks run.
On the other hand, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' was made just with a moderate budget of Rs.60 crores. The movie is reported to have fared Rs.495 crores world wide at the end of its two weeks run. Given the budget statistics and the time span of the collections are considered, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' has surely shown its upper hand on 'Baahubali'. Meanwhile, 'Baahubali' shall not be considered as a regional film due to its universal concept and unprecedented promotions made before its release.
