Attack on lawyers ACP submits report to SHRC

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chikkadapally, Satyanarayana Rao, who was appointed to probe into attack on lawyers by  Telugu Desam Party activst  at Indira Park on Saturday, has submitted his report to the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC).

Taking strong exception to the attack on lawyers, the SHRC on Saturday directed the police department to submit a comprehensive report on the incident to the Commission by Monday.

As reported earlier, the Telangana lawyers raised slogans against Tdp leader N Chandrababu Naidu and the Left parties when Naidu was delivering a speech against the price hike during the dharna at  Indira Park  on Saturday. They demanded that Naidu should resign from his MLA post and spell out  his stand on Telangana.

Despite  repeated appeals  from the Tdp chief not to disturb the meeting, the lawyers persisited with their  disturbing  trends  to disrupt Babu's speech. Tension prevailed for sometime as the agitated lawyers and Tdp  activists jostled with one another.  

The Tdp  activists in their bid to chase the lawyers away from the venue inflicted injuries to someof the lawyers.

 The lawyers demanded that Chandrababu Naidu should apologize. However, the Tdp  chief  refused to say  sorry to the lawyers.
