In view of the threat perception from Telangana activists, the Government has increased the security at the residences of legislators representing Telangana region.
Following a call given by Telangana Joint Action Committee to attack the Telangana leaders and their houses if they do not submit their resignations, the Government has posted security at their residences and increased the number of security personnel guarding them.
In case of women legislators and ministers like Sabita Indra Reddy and Geetha Reddy, the security is much more than what it existed for others.
The security personnel guarding the legislators and MPs’ houses has been increased four-fold and their houses are secured by barricades.
Going by the past experience, one can recollect how the Telangana activists, mostly from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti cadre had targeted the houses of Telangana leaders who did not tender their resignations.
The security personnel are keeping a strict vigil on the passersby at these residences so as to avoid any untoward incidents.
As reported earlier, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao deferred his resignation till the byelections are held.
