Ramayana: Rakul Preet Singh dazzles as Soorpanakha
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is releasing on 5 November 2026. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead roles. The makers released the first look of Rakul Preet Singh from the film.
It is known that Rakul Preet Singh is playing the role of Soorpanakha, sister of Ravana in the film. Rakul Preet Singh shared the look with the post “Jansthan ki Rajkumari, Surpanakha. Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha,”. In the first look Rakul appears in a royal ensemble featuring intricate detailing, ornate gold jewellery and an elaborate headpiece, reflecting the visual design created for the character.
About her role in the film, Rakul said “Being a part of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana and playing Surpanakha is a truly special experience for me. She is a character with a significant place in this epic, and exploring her world has been an incredible journey as an actor. To be part of a story that has been cherished across generations and holds such a special place in our culture is a privilege. I’m excited for audiences to see this portrayal and experience the world that Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra are bringing to life on such a grand scale.”
She said" I think what was so exciting were a couple of things. First, it's India's representation to the world. Our history, our truth represented to the world's first ever-global film. Secondly, Surpanakha is a very misunderstood and layered character. She was the reason why the war took place in the first place. So it has been really interesting to play someone with multiple shades,”
