TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday claimed that the Telugu Desam Party was the first one to agree for formation of Telangana State.
Addressing the meeting of Telangana TDP leaders at NTR Trust Bhavan here, Naidu claimed that the TDP was always in the forefront for formation of Telangana. He dismissed the reports that TDP would be viewed as anti-Telangana party on the grounds that the party openly supported the statehood demand on multiple occasions.
Naidu also claimed that it was the TDP Government that developed both Telangana and Seemandhra regions. He said the downtrodden sections of Telangana region were politically empowered during the TDP rule. He said that the development brought by the TDP Government was unparalleled. Besides Hyderabad, Cyberabad was also created which later became the IT Hub of the State.
The TDP asked the party cadre to gear up for the elections and create history by winning from both the States. He expressed confidence that the TDP would form government both in Telangana and Seemandhra. He said that the TDP would work for re-building Telangana State. Assuring protection to all Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad, he said that Telangana people were not against Seemandhra people.
TDP senior leader Erraballi Dayakar Rao asked the cadre to strengthen the party in Telangana and advised them to ignore the misinformation being spread by rivals over the existence of TDP in the new State. “Our party had already shown its sincerity by submitting a letter to the Centre in support of Telangana earlier”, he said. .
Other senior leaders also addressed the meeting.
