RS Polls: Eight file nominations for six seats

As many as eight candidates filed nomination papers for the six Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. They include two rebel candidates of Congress party.

T Subbrami Reddy, KVP Ramachandra Rao and M A Khan filed their papers as the official candidates of Congress party. Similarly, the TDP candidates Garikapati Mohan Rao and Sitarama Lakshmi also submitted their nominations to Legislature secretary S Raja Sadaram. TRS Secretary General K Keshav Rao also filed his papers on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Congress MLC K V Satyanarayana Raju alias Chaitanya Raju and MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy too filed their papers as party rebels for the biennial elections scheduled to be held on February 7. Though there were rumours that former minister JC Diwakar Reddy too might enter the fray, he decided against contesting the elections.
