Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday claimed that he was not aware that Praja Rajyam Party MLAs were `unhappy’ till they expressed their feeling in party meeting.
Talking to media persons, Botsa admitted that the MLAs from the PRP were facing some problems after their party merged with the Congress. Stating that the party would treat both Congress and PRP MLAs equally, he said these initial hiccups would be eased out through discussions only. “The party will never show any discrimination against any leader and treat all MLAs equally,” he said.
“Except for Chiranjeevi, all other MLAs had a feeling that they were being discriminated in the Congress party,” the PCC chief said. Some developmental works in their respective constituencies are pending and this was the primary reasons for their displeasure, he said.
Botsa was confident said that the No Confidence Motion would be defeated in the assembly as the ruling party had sufficient numbers in its favour. He said steps have been taken to pacify the PRP MLAs and on Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s instruction, the PRP MLAs are being appointed as district in-charges in their respective constituencies.
