Modi exposes KCR.Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Tuesday that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had expressed interest in joining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after the 2020 Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. However, the Prime Minister declined the offer due to concerns about KCR's actions.

Addressing a Telangana rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed, "When the BJP secured 48 seats in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, KCR sought our support. He used to welcome me at the airport before the election, but that abruptly ceased."He continued, "After the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, KCR approached me in Delhi, expressing his desire to join the NDA and requesting our support. I explained to him that due to his actions, I could not align with him."

In the 2020 Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls, KCR's BRS party fell 21 seats short of a majority, while the BJP won 48 out of 150 seats, surpassing its 2015 performance.During the Nizamabad rally in Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the KCR-led state government, accusing it of failing to fulfill promises made to farmers. He pledged to support turmeric farmers in Nizamabad and establish a National Turmeric Board.

"The BRS government has failed to uphold its commitments to Telangana's farmers. However, in recent years, we have deposited approximately Rs 10,000 crores into the bank accounts of 40 lakh farmers. We are actively promoting Nizamabad's turmeric production under the 'One District, One Product scheme,' and we will establish the National Turmeric Board, as promised to the turmeric farmers," he affirmed.
