Dasari Narayana Rao’s concern on falling standards of Telugu cinema with adverse increase in budgets isn’t really a welcome feature for well being of industry. While Producers Council and other senior well wishers are recommending new measures on how to keep budgets in control thus saving producers and industry but there is no proper mechanism to monitor the entire process. Major problems come in with remuneration of star heroes and other side, supporting artists along with technicians who are continually increasing their demands on huge pay cheques.
‘Once, character artists who were happy taking Rs.20, 000 per day are today demanding Rs. 2 Lakhs,’ complained Dasari on the real worst scenario of Tollywood. Analysts say, there are some comedy artists who have become virtual heroes of many Telugu hit films these days are demanding more than that of heroes. Example being, most of us know about Brahmanandam. May be, Dasari was also pin pointing on artists like Brahmi.
