'Dirty Picture' Attacked at Musheerabad

Tension prevailed at Sai Raja Theatre, Musheerabad when hundreds of students under the aegis of All India Students Federation (AISF) on Tuesday staged a protest in front of the theatre demanding ban on ‘Dirty Picture.’ Raising slogans, students demanded the theatre management to stop screening of the film as it contains highly objectionable scenes.

Addressing the gathering, AISF general secretary Eswaraiah said that the obscene scenes in film would spoil the tender minds and their career. He also criticized the Censor Board for clearing the movie although it has obscene and objectionable scenes. He demanded that government should initiate stringent action on the Censor Board members for clearing ‘The Dirty Picture.’ They’ve warned that AISF would picket the theatres if Government did not ban the film. Sensing trouble, the police came to the spot and took a few activists into custody. We already know that ‘Dirty Picture’ is based on the life of Silk Smitha and the main role was played by Bollywood actress Vidya Balan.
