Pan India craze increasing duology pressure on directors. Any pan-India project is triggering discussion among movie lovers whether the film is a duology or triology. Even before the start of the shooting, rumours spread that the film will be a duology and speculation increase over franchise.

If the film turns out to be a blockbuster, bringing a sequel to it is the best option. However, even before the result of the first part , coming up with the second part completely changes the project span. Gone are the days when the makers used to think of the sequels only after the film turned out to be a hit. Now, under the changed circumstances, makers are facing immense tensions and challenges in deciding on the sequels.

Directors are facing commitment pressures as to whether they have to narrate the story in one or two parts and judging the audience pulse when the sequel is forced dragging the first part. Director due to this may not show his original vision on the screen. However, heroes and producers are keen to cash in to the craze with the talk of franchise. Franchise will give star heroes the option of keeping their market intact. Creative differences may occur if the team priorities donot match.

The main point is whether the story requires two parts or whether the sequel tag is used only for the business model. If the sequel is planned without the demand in the story, the first part content may get impacted. However, if the viewers get connected to the first part, the second part will get huge hype. So pan-India trend and production of the projects are now becoming a challenge. Though it is good for the business to decide on the sequel at the start of the project, the hero,director and producer thought process should be in sync with the story to turn the project a successful venture at the box office.
