Two emotional letters posted on late filmmaker K Bhagyaraj’s official social media after his June 27 passing in Chennai sparked controversy. Written on his letterhead with signature, the posts thanked fans and urged support for son Shanthanu Bhagyaraj. Many found them touching, while others questioned authenticity and timing online.

The first letter called fans his life’s greatest joy and requested continued backing for Shanthanu’s career. It also shared a farewell note on life’s impermanence. The second thanked attendees at his final journey, saying he’d live on through good cinema, stories, dialogues, and values.

Debate erupted as users asked why daughter Saranya wasn’t mentioned and why letters appeared posthumously. Some speculated AI recreated Bhagyaraj’s writing style, though no proof exists. Supporters defended the tone as matching his known style. The timing during a grieving period drew mixed responses.

Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, who debuted in 2008’s Sakkarakatti and starred in Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga, faced online criticism. Accusations claimed he used his father’s legacy for sympathy and career push. What began as tribute evolved into discussions on family, social media ethics, and posthumous messaging.
