Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay divorce case with wife Sangeetha Sornalingam was heard at Chengalpattu Mahila Court on June 15 2026. The court has now adjourned the case to August 7 for next hearing. This case started in February when Sangeetha filed a petition and accused Vijay of having an affair with a female actor since 2021.

She said even after promises he continued the relationship and went to events with her. She also said she and their two children Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha faced shame because of it. The couple was first asked to appear on April 20 but both missed it so the court fixed June 15 as new date.

In her petition Sangeetha also claimed that Vijay stopped facilities she was getting and put financial limits on her. She said her freedom to move was also restricted which caused her mental stress. The divorce plea was filed under Section 27 1 a and 27 1 d of Special Marriage Act. Vijay and Sangeetha got married in 1999 and have been living separately for some time.

On work front Vijay is busy with politics after his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won big in Tamil Nadu against DMK and ADMK. He took oath as Chief Minister on May 10. His last film Jana Nayagan is still waiting for CBFC clearance and is directed by H Vinoth. Fans are watching both his political journey and court case updates now.
