Pahlaj Nihlani passes away. Ex Censor Board Member and producer Pahlaj Nihlani passed away due to health issues pertaining to liver.

76-year-old Pahlaj Nihlani was renowned for films like Aankhen, Andaz, Talaash, Rangeela Raja and Julie 2. His tenure as the Censor Board chief became controversial.

He had been battling liver-related ailments and was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. He breathed his last on Thursday. His final rites will be performed at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai at 3 pm on Thursday. The family's statement read, "With profound grief, we inform you of the passing of our beloved Pahlaj Nihalani on 4th June 2026. The cremation ceremony will be held today, 04.06.2026, at 3 pm at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers as we bid a final farewell."

He was born on January 10, 1950, in Mumbai, into a Sindhi family. He grew up in the city and came to the film industry with a strong commercial instinct. Condolences started pouring in from all quarters.
