Nowadays making a movie is one thing and getting the film a hassle free release is altogether another aspect. Especially for big star films, this release is a huge task for Producers and distributors to provide large number of theatres. Mythri Movie Makers headed by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar is one of the leading production house with big films in their catalogue. They are even venturing into other languages making films with stars.
Last year when their two big ticket films, Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy got released simultaneously for Sankranthi, they faced theatre issues and decided to start their own distribution firm. Ever since they are releasing their film's through their own distribution and also releasing other films too.
After leading producers like Suresh Babu, Allu Arvind and Dil Raju , it is now the turn of Mythri Movie Makers to take over theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Mythri Movie Makers have more than 150-odd theatres in two Telugu states. They recently distributed and scored blockbusters with ‘Salaar’ and ‘HanuMan’ and tasted success and planned to distribute more Telugu films in the days to come.
Mythri is planning to pay single theatre owners in towns and amount of Rs 2 to 3 lakh per month, while theatre owners in cities would get four to five times more. The lease period would be between 9 to 10 years and Mythri Movie Makers would also spend Rs 1 crore on each theatre to renovate and provide a swanky ambiance for viewers. Suresh Babu has 600 theatres, Allu Arvind 400 theatres and Dil Raju around 400 theatres and Mythri moving next to them.
