Rashmika Rainbow put on hold. Rashmika Mandanna was elated when her debut female-oriented Tamil film, 'Rainbow,' commenced its journey with much pomp and splendor in April last year. However, according to sources in Chennai, the project has hit a snag, with filming coming to a halt after 15 to 20 days. Allegedly, the film has been shelved temporarily by the producers due to the prevailing trend of female-centric movies struggling to find success in the Tamil film industry.

Acknowledging the challenging landscape for such projects in Kollywood, a source shares, "Recognizing the current market dynamics, where female-centric films are facing hurdles, the production team has decided to pause production and await a more favorable climate to resume work on this gripping thriller."

On the flip side, Rashmika's debut female-oriented Telugu film, 'The Girlfriend,' is progressing smoothly and has generated significant buzz in Tollywood. Described as a narrative centered around a female protagonist, the film's first look has been unveiled, offering a tantalizing glimpse into its intriguing storyline. "The initial teaser features Rashmika submerged in water, accompanied by a poignant voiceover that delves into themes of possessive love and obsession," notes the source, setting the stage for an exploration of complex emotions and relationships.

Amidst her flourishing career, Rashmika continues to soar with the success of 'Animal' while eagerly anticipating the release of the much-anticipated 'Pushpa The Rule.' Furthermore, she is in talks to star opposite Prabhas in a high-profile project helmed by director Sandeep Vanga. Additionally, the actress has signed on for a significant role alongside Tamil superstar Dhanush, directed by Sekhar Kammula, underlining her versatility and appeal across multiple film industries.
