After recent all time blockbuster, Jailer - Sun Pictures today announced the commencement of their next with Rajinikanth referred as #Thalaivar171

Sun Pictures, has announced that they will be producing the highly anticipated Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj film, which is currently being referred to as Thalaivar 171. The announcement has created a buzz among the fans of both Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj. Sun Pictures made the announcement on their official Twitter handle to announce their collaboration with the Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. 

Since yesterday, there were rumors circulating that the project of Rajinikanth and Lokesh has been called off. To clear the air, Sun Pictures today posted the latest update confirming the project is very much on. They posted in Twitter along with a picture, " We are happy to announce Superstar @Rajinikanth’s #Thalaivar171 Written & Directed by @Dir_Lokesh"

Music will be provided by Anirudh Ravichander and the action will be taken care by Anbariv. Rajinikanth has completed Lal Salaam directed by his daughter Ishwarya Rajinikanth where he played a special role. The latest film with Lokesh Kanagaraj will start in February, 2024. This is fifth collaboration of Rajinikanth with Sun Pictures after Enthiran / Robo, Petta / Peta, Annaatthe / Peddanna and Jailer.
