The real reason behind Salaar's postponement. Fans of Prabhas got a huge shock when the most awaited film Salaar which was supposed to release on 28 September got postponed indefinitely. Speculation is on that the film will be now releasing in November. But some say the makers are planning to release the film either in December or January 2024.

Rumours spread that the makers couldn't complete a special song featuring Prabhas and a top Bollywood beauty due to Prabhas' knee surgery and so they decided to postpone the film. In the meantime, other reports say Prabhas and Prashant Neel are not satisfied with the VFX work of the fictitious cities shown in the film.

Reliable sources reveal that the postponement of 'Salaar' was necessitated by director Prashanth Neel's dissatisfaction with the visual effects team based in Mumbai. The ambitious project demanded the creation of three opulent fictional cities, a task entrusted to this team. However, upon reviewing their initial work, the director found it lacking and requested revisions, providing additional references for guidance.

Despite their substantial fees, the visual effects specialists struggled to recreate the cities as per the director's vision. Unwilling to compromise on the quality and integrity of his work, Prashanth Neel made the decision to delay the film's release until he was satisfied with the visual effects. "Director Prashanth urged the Mumbai-based team to create three lavish fictional cities for his magnum opus. But when the team displayed their work, the director was dissatisfied with the patchy work and returned the material asking them to re-do the sets by giving them few more references," says a source and adds, "Despite charging a bomb, the visual effects personnel couldn’t recreate the cities as suggested by the director."

Considering the high expectations surrounding this action-adventure epic, the producers engaged in discussions with global distributors and chose to postpone the release indefinitely, without specifying a new date. However, rescheduling the release is proving to be a complex endeavor, particularly due to the specific requirements of overseas distributors in regions like the UK, Australia, and Japan. These distributors insist on receiving content for quality checks at least 15 days in advance, a practice distinct from the Indian release strategy, where content is provided just two days prior to the release date.

The intricate negotiations with exhibitors and distributors worldwide make finding a suitable new release date a challenging task that will require time and consideration. January stands as one potential option, although no definitive date has been confirmed.
