Shanti Priya exposes Akshay Kumar. It is known that Shanti Priya, sister of Bhanu Priya acted in few films and made a name for herself. She even went on to star in Bollywood films. She however revealed that in her debut film in Bollywood, Saugandh in 1995, she shared screen presence with Akshay Kumar, Akshay Kumar body shamed her and this left her into depression. She also said that few magazines also made fun of her sister Bhanu Priya with articles stating that she will charge remuneration as per the number of pimples on her face.

Recollecting the incident she said “I must be 22-23 at the time. Yes, I went into a depression. My mom was a strong pillar for us because we already faced these things in our industry, whether it is down South or in Hindi. My sister (Bhanupriya) also faced it a lot. Didi used to do Hindi movies. There were a couple of magazines in the Hindi industry where they wrote about Didi when she had pimples, (the magazines) used to say that how much ever pimples she had, that much amount she charges for a movie. I was like ‘What?’ We went through a lot because of our colours. Even now, my sons go through it.”

She added “I was not able to talk to him that comfortably. And I think it was my second last day (on set). It was the climax scene and picture khatam ho gaya tha.” She revealed “He has not apologized but he told me, ‘I was just joking, come on man, don’t take seriously, main bus mazak masti kar raha tha.’ I said, ‘Yeah, okay.’ But he has come and spoken to me. He didn’t apologised like ‘I’m really very sorry if I hurt you in any manner’, not that way. But he just told, ‘It was just in a flow and I was just joking. That’s all. You know no, main masti karta hoon.’ It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, I touched something very sensitive, I should have not told that.’ It wasn’t that kind,”

She even accused Akshay Kumar of ghosting her when she tried to make a comeback and met him in the sets of Holiday-A Soldier is Never Off Duty. She shared “When I met him on the Holiday set, he was the same Akshay. I told him that I want to come back, and he asked me how I was doing, how my kids were doing. We had a nice half-hour conversation during his lunch break. He introduced me to Sonakshi and told her that I was his first heroine. So, I told him I was planning to come back and to let me know if there’s any good thingâ€æ” She said that Akshay told her that she still ‘looks the same’, but also gave her a reality check, and told her, “You know you can’t play a heroine, right?” Shanthi Priya was taken aback, and replied, “If you can play a hero, why can’t I play a heroine?”

She added “I learned that one shouldn’t have hopeâ€æ I don’t want to hide anything, but after that, I got a call from his secretary for Airlift. He said sir wants your pictures, blah blahâ€æ I immediately emailed the pictures and kept calling. They kept telling me they’ll get back to me, but they never did. Calling, no pick up, calling, no pick upâ€æ The true colour came out. I messaged Akshay, no reply. Seen, no reply; seen, no reply; seen, no reply. It was horrible. And my mom has a soft corner for him. I asked her if I should still call him, she said stop.”
