Yeavam (2024) Telugu Movie: What's Behind
Talented Telugu actress Chandini Chowdhary is set to entertain movie lovers with the intriguing thriller 'Yevam,' directed by Prakash Dantuluri, releasing today. Let's find out how the film captivated the audience.
Chandini Chowdhary's Yevam: Story Review
Yevam story is all about a female police officer, and how she solves the mysterious acts of a psychopath even when her parents and her colleagues discourage her.
Soumya (Chandini Chowdhary) joins as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in a small town in Vikarabad and is inspired by SI Abhiram (Jai Bharat Raj). However, she is taken aback when she is assigned to work in the files section.
Things take a drastic turn with the murder of a girl who went for auditions opposite a top star. The story unfolds as Soumya delves into the investigation, uncovering the connections involving Yugandhar (Vasishta Simha), Harika (Ashu Reddy), and the reactions of her father (Devi Prasad). This sets the stage for the rest of the narrative.
Yevam Telugu Movie: Artists Review
Chandini Chowdhary is a talented actor with good looks, but she hasn't been getting roles that truly showcase her performance. Despite this, she performed her role sincerely and in a natural manner. Jai Bharat Raj is adequate in the role of the superior officer; although his physique suits the role of a cop, he struggles to convey basic expressions effectively.
Vasishta Simha successfully evoked fear with his look and body language, while Devi Prasad was fitting as the father. Ashu Reddy, on the other hand, appeared in an unremarkable role that didn't leave much of an impression.
Yevam Telugu Film: Technicians Review
The story of 'Yevam,' penned by Prakash Dantuluri, aimed to highlight female power through the character of a police officer. Though the idea was commendable, the execution fell short. Initially, the film generated interest with scenes depicting how people exploit the craze for studying star heroes among females. However, this interest quickly dissipated due to silly investigation scenes and the personal problems of the lead pair. The narration dragged, making it seem like the director lost his way, and the interval arrived abruptly.
The second half proved even more torturous, and by the time the pre-climax and climax arrived, viewers were completely exhausted. The screenplay and direction were severely lacking, turning the story extremely weak. If the makers had concentrated more on the script and developed it better, the outcome could have been different.
Srujana Adusumilli's editing left much to be desired, with numerous drags testing the patience of moviegoers. The music by Neelesh Mandalapu and Keerana Sesh failed to make an impact; none of the songs were appealing, and the background score was below average. Vishweshwar's cinematography was just adequate, showcasing the rustic and rural locations properly. Production values were average at best.
Yevam Movie: Advantages
- Chandni Chowdhary
- Couple of scenes
Yevam Movie: Disadvantages
- Weak Story
- Silly Screenplay
- Snail Pace
Yevam (2024) Movie: Rating Analysis
Altogether, Yevam turns out to be the most silliest crime thriller. Chandni Chowdhary tried her best to elevate the film with her performance, but the weak story and lackluster narration undermined her efforts. Considering these aspects, Cinejosh gives 'Yevam' a rating of 1.5.
