
Malayalam film Drishyam that came out in 2013 was a sleeper hit. The Mohanlal starrer had an unprecedented hit that ran cash registers ringing. The film also remade in Telugu with the same title had Venkatesh essaying the role of Ram Babu and stood as clear winner at the box office. The same magic was repeated in Hindi too.
Now, Jeethu Joseph directorial has announced sequel Drishyam-2 which is releasing on February 19. The sequel is set against the backdrop as to what happened to the murder case that remained a mystery. Meanwhile, the latest buzz is the film will be made in Telugu with Victory Venkatesh reprising the same character.
Suresh Productions is said present the sequel Drishyam starring Venkatesh. Well, we could get a clarity on the same in coming days. Currently, Venky is working on Anil Ravipuri’s F3 and has okayed Tharun Bhascker’s film.
Drishyam 2 Hindi Remake Rights Sold
While the Malayalam sequel is yet to be relased, as per the latest development Drishyam 2 Hindi remake rights have been sold. A source said, “Drishyam is a very special film for Kumar ji and he wanted to make sure that he bags the rights of Drishyam 2 as well. However, there is no clarity on who will direct and act in the Hindi version of Drishyam 2".
