Yesteryear actress Sridevi gave sleepless nights to Tollywood movie lovers endearing herself to all as Atiloka Sundari. Top director K Raghavendra Rao beautified all his heroines including Sridevi in his films with the help of flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
Sridevi created a sensation with 16 Vayathinile which was remade in Telugu as Padaharella Vayasu. While the original was directed by Bharatiraja, the remake was directed by Raghavendra Rao.
Chandra Mohan and Mohan Babu reprised the roles of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in the remake. The original had a sad ending and it connected well with the Tamil Tambis.
However, Raghavendra Rao wove magic around Atiloka Sundari by making it a happy ending. In the climax, Sridevi after waiting for Chandra Mohan in the railway station turns back disappointed only to see him much to her delight.
Chandra Mohan should tie Mangalsutra at that time and the choreographer should shoot the scene with colors changing in the skies. But cinematographer Prakash couldn't understand how to shoot the scene. Raghavendra Rao, however, convinced Prakash that the scene would signify a happy ending and planned it accordingly. The climax scene turned out to be the highlight in Padahaarella Vayasu.
