Naga Chaitanya is not a big hero with huge blockbuster to his credit. Premam is the biggest hit in his career. Even with positive talk, the Chandoo Mondeti directorial collected Rs 22 crores. Chaitu’s previous film Rarandoi Veduka Chudham minted around Rs 20 crores for full run.
This indicates that, Naga Chaitanya’s market value is hardly 20 to 25 crores. If his film gets good reports, then it has chances to rake around 25 crores or else it is tough to recover even half of its investment.
Buyers who invested high prices on Chaitu’s latest venture Sailaja Reddy Alludu are having sleepless nights over last few days. The film directed by Maruthi has done a worldwide theatrical business of Rs 24.54 crores which is a bit high to final share of Chaitu’s career biggest hit.
Director Maruthi’s last movie Mahanubhavudu was an average grosser and actress Anu Emmanuel hasn’t scored a single hit despite starring opposite top stars in the industry. Producer S Radhakrishna’s last production venture Agnyaathavaasi was also a disaster.
On the other hand, Sailaja Reddy Alludu will have tough competition from Samantha’s U Turn which is targeted at multiplex audience. So, Sailaja Reddy Alludu can recover its budget if and only if the film gets extreme optimistic response post its release.
