The death toll of infants has now raised to 70 in BRD hospital of Gorakhpur in UP which created panic in the city. As we know, the reason is said to be disruption of liquid oxygen supply by the supplier as the hospital authorities failed in paying the dues of Rs.68 lakhs.
However, the UP government is desperately finding the ways to escape the criticism from people and opposition parties. The CM Adityanadh defends that the infants were died of encephalitis and called for the people to get the eradication of the dreadful disease.
However, Gorakhpur tragedy triggered outrage of oppositions SP and the Congress.
“Kins of the deceased were shooed away after handing over dead bodies to them. Post mortem examinations not done on dead bodies. Admission cards were taken out of records. Extremely sad,” tweeted Akhilesh Yadav. The opposition further demanded the resignation of health minister Siddharthnath Singh.
On the other side, the union government is censured that it's spending around Rs.500 crores for yoga and Rs.500+ crores more for developing Goshalas for cows but can't even allocate Rs.67 lakhs for infants.
Ironically, the UP CM Adityanath ordered grand Janmashtami celebrations in UP today.
