Sharath Chandra, a novelist who wrote the novel, 'Chachchentha Prema' in reputed weekly Swathi in the year 2012,  has allegedly lodged a complaint that 'Srimanthudu' movie was a copy of his novel.

Besides, the writer has also showcased many instances to prove his argument right. As per the story of his novel,, a man who was hated by the villagers, became the home minister later. His son loves a girl in the college and happens to know that his dad is hated by the villagers. Hero goes to the village and starts doing many charitable programs. The village's name in the novel has been mentioned as 'Devarakonda' while it was changed into 'Devara Kota' in the movie.

It is yet to be known whether the allegations made by the novelist are genuine or not. If at all the novelist is proved right, Koratala must be repented for his blunder because, thought poverty is one of the biggest mistakes. Let's not hope this to happen.
