Directors who once delivered sensational hits even changing the course of the Industry are now struggling to deliver even a decent film. The filmmakers who had command over their craft are now facing humiliation for their latest outings. Where does the problem lie, Is it getting relaxed after earning star director status or lack of fire in the belly? But, it is sad to see these dynamic Directors struggling to deliver.

Praveen Sattaru earned the image of a promising filmmaker by doing films in different genres. Right from his debut film LBW, Praveen tried various genres with Routine Love Story, National Award-winning Chandamama Kathalu, Guntur Talkies, and PSV Garudavega. His film, Garuda vega with veteran hero Rajasekhar surprised everyone with its stunning narration and slick action. But, then his two films The Ghost with Nagarjuna and Gandeevadhaari Arjuna with Varun Tej turned out to be disasters. Garudavega was made with a limited budget but with an intriguing screenplay whereas the last two films had a surplus budget but poor writing.

Another Director who is known for making the most stylish action thrillers is Surender Reddy. He proved his mettle as a director with his debut film Athanokkade with Nandamuri Kalyanram. His films Kick, Race Gurram, and Dhruva became super hits with stylish taking and making. His film with Megastar Chiranjeevi, Sye Raa also won accolades for portraying the freedom fighter's war impact fully. But, his last outing Agent with Akhil Akkineni bombed at the box office. Delivering flops is one thing but making poor films missing basic elements is unacceptable. Especially when crores of money and the careers of numerous people who work hard for that film are at stake.

Directors like Puri Jagannadh, VV Vinayak, and Vikram K Kumar also fall in the same category. Puri Jagannadh who introduced a new grammar to filmmaking in Tollywood delivered a pan India disaster Liger while VV Vinayak who was once a star director with whom stars waited to work made a remake of Chatrapathi in Hindi which didn't even recover qube and publicity costs. Vikram K Kumar is considered the next Maniratnam after his films Ishq, Manam, and 24. Manam blew everyone away with its master storytelling. He delivered a dud like 'Thank You' last year. These filmmakers are highly talented and have proven themselves. They just need to stay relevant and retrospect themselves where it went wrong with their latest films.
