Suspense over the constituency of Andhra Pradesh IT minister
Nara Lokesh for 2019 Assembly Polls ends today. It is officially confirmed that, he will contest from Mangalagiri constituency in the upcoming elections.
Constituencies like Bheemili and Vizag North Assembly were considered, but Telugu Desam Party leadership has decided to field Lokesh from Mangalagiri which once was the strongholds of Congress before the state bifurcation.
Last time in 2014, YSRCP’s Alla Rama Krishna Reddy won the election battle against TDP’s Ganji Chiranjeevi by just 12 votes. The last time TDP won here was in 1985. Koteswara Rao defeated Congress Party’s Rayapati Srinivas back then in 1985. So, it is not a cake walk for Lokesh to win his first election battle.
Nara Lokesh was formally inducted into TDP in May 2013, and worked on the election strategy for 2014 General Elections. And in 2017, Chandra Babu Naidu inducted Lokesh as an MLC and a month later he was inducted as the Cabinet minister for IT, Panchayathi Raj and Rural Development.
