Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Monday took exception to party leader and former minister T Jeevan Reddy's remarks about him stating that "I can't play or fix matches with Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu at this age."
Reddy is reported to have stated that Naidu and Rosaiah cautiously played down the ‘Chalo Assembly’ call to which the Chief Minister said, “My age doesn't permit me to play or fix matches with Naidu.”
He asked his partymen to vent their grievances within the party fora and not raise them in public. The party leadership would initiate disciplinary action against such leaders who behave irresponsibly in the public. “If the responsible leaders behave this way, what more do you expect from others,” he questioned.
He promised a nine-hour free power supply to the farmers in a phased manner. The government has invited Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for talks to solve border and irrigation disputes between the states, he pointed out.
With regard to the proposed Cabinet expansion and vacant posts, he said the Cabinet expansion and appointment to nominated posts would be taken up when the need arises. The Congress party would fulfil its electoral promises, he said. Since the prices of essential commodities are falling, the government would now focus on development, he added.
