Rosaiah's 2010-2011 budget

Amid uncertainties, Chief Minister K Rosaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio, on Saturday presented the 2010-2011 budget of Rs. 113,675 lakh crore including a non-plan expenditure of Rs 73, 347 crore. The Budget predicted a revenue surplus of Rs. 3548 crore and the fiscal deficit Rs 12, 983 crore.

The following are some of the key highlights of the Rs. 1,13,675 crore budget:

Non-plan expenditure: Rs. 73, 347 crore.

Revenue surplus: Rs. 3,548 crore

Fiscal deficit: Rs. 12, 983 crore.

SEZs planned for Kakinada, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam

353 heavy industries being planned

A bus rapid transit system (BRTS) will be initiated in Vijayawada and Vizag

All government schools will have computers

Some major budget allocations:

Arogyasri - Rs. 925 crore

Free power - Rs. 4,500 crore

Senior citizens and handicapped - Rs. 1,846 crore
