Naidu blames State for twin blast

Condemning the Dilsukhnagar twin blast at Dilsukhnagar, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrabau Naidu blamed the State Government for its failure to take precautions despite receiving an alert from the Centre.

Talking to reporters after visiting the blast site here on Friday, Naidu described the terror attack as an unfortunate and highly condemnable incident. Citing the example of US Government, he said that the State Government should have issued a caution notice to the people in view of alert issued by the Union Home Ministry. Stating that the Central and State intelligence agencies have failed to prevent the blast, he said that it was the government's responsibility to protect people's lives.

Naidu said that the government should have learned lessons from blasts at Mecca Masjid, Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat to make public places more secure. Instead, he said that the government took public security as a routine manner. Demanding stern action against those responsible for the incident, he said that the government should increase the ex-gratia amount for the families of deceased to Rs 10 lakh each. He claimed that the TDP Government kept a proper check on the terror-related activities in the State.
