Chief Whip accuses Sharmila of misleading people

Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Friday accused YSR Congress party leader Sharmila of trying to divert the attention of people from the serious corruption charges being faced by her brother and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Venkataramana Reddy said that Sharmila should clarify to people as to why her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy was lodged in jail. He said Sharmila has been leveling baseless allegations against the government to divert attention from the corruption cases that her brother is facing.

Dismissing the allegations of lack of development, the Government Whip said that the State has been witnessing overall development under the leadership of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Speaking about Nara Chandrababu Naidu, he said that it appears that the TDP chief wants to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for making maximum promises. He said instead of making new promises, Naidu should apologise to the people for the mistake committed during his nine-year rule.
