Danam repulses attack by T-activists

Labour Minister Danam Nagender on Thursday repulsed an attack on his convey by pro-Telangana activists near Ministers' Quarters at Banjara Hills.

The activists of Telangana Jagruti attacked Nagender's convoy when he came out of the Ministers' Quarters. While the police resorted to lathi-charge and took several leaders into custody, Nagender himself repulsed the attack and chased away the Telangana activists. He also caught one of the activists and handed him over to the police.

Later, Nagender also lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police against the T-activists.

A few Telangana activists also sustained injuries due to police lathicharge and one of them was also referred to a private hospital for treatment. An advocate also lodged a complaint with the Nampally Criminal Court alleging that he was attacked by the Labour Minister.

Meanwhile, Telangana Ikya Karyacharana Samithi leaders laid siege to Minister P Vishwaroop’s residence at SR Nagar. The police also foiled an attempt by the Osmania University students to take out a rally in protest against the meeting of Seemandhra leaders in the city.
