Maintaining suspense over his proposed indefinite fast, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday hinted that fast-unto-death would be last option that he would exercise if the Centre fails to announce a favourable decision on Telangana decision.
Addressing the electricity department employees at the Mint Compound on Tuesday, Chandrasekhar Rao said that the decision on indefinite fast would be taken at an appropriate time depending upon the prevailing situation.
Kcr strongly criticised the lathi charge on the students of Osmania University and Nizam College on Monday by the police and alleged that the police was behaving like 'goondas'. Directly holding the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy responsible for the incidents, he said the state government was denying the students their fundamental right to protest.
The TRS President also asked the employees not to be afraid of ESMA or the 'No Work, No Pay' rule. "When Telangana State is formed, your salary for the number of days who were on strike would be paid with interest," he said.
Kcr asked the centre to honour the announcement made by Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 09, 2009 regarding the formation of Telangana state. Describing the Telangana agitation as the second freedom movement, he warned the employees that they would be treated as bonded labour if Telangana state is not achieved now. "We are riding on a tiger now. If we stop, we will die," he said.
