Bharatiya Janata Party state president G Kishen Reddy on Monday stated that the party will organise a massive `Telangana Poru’ public meeting in Karimnagar district on May 31. The meeting will be held to push for the introduction of the Telangana Bill in Parliament, the BJP state chief told media persons at party office in Nampally.
He was speaking after holding discussions about the arrangements with party incharges where he said that the meeting will be presided by senior national leader Sushma Swaraj. “The Telangana Poru is aimed at mounting pressure on the Centre for the introduction T Bill in Parliament. The meeting will discuss threadbare the current political situation in the state after the by-election results and the course of action to be adopted if Centre fails to introduce Telangana Bill in Parliament,” Mr Kishen Reddy said.
He said the BJP has already made its stand clear on Telangana and if the Centre introduces separate Telangana bill in the parliament, the MPs will extend their support for the passing of bill. The BJP state unit chief added that the Telangana political Joint Action Committee has already extended support to the Telangana Poru.
Mr Kishen Reddy added that meeting will also invite Telugu Desam Telangana Legislators Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy to extend support to the Telangana agitation. “Coming for the meeting or not is his choice,” he stated. He called upon all Telangana leaders, cutting across party lines, to participate in the agitation and make concrete efforts for the formation of separate Telangana state.
