JC jumps to KCR's defence over CEO meet

Senior Congress leader JC Diwakar Reddy on Saturday expressed disappointment at the comments of some leaders from his party expressing optimism that the Centre would not cave in to the demands by separate Telangana protagonists and refuse to bifurcate the state.

Talking to media persons at the CLP, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that since the Srikrishna Commission Report on the future of the state was expected by the year-end, it was not proper for Seemandhra leaders to comment on the bifurcation issue.

Indirectly referring to Anantapur MP Anant Venkatram Reddy’s statement in which he had said that it was not proper for Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao to meet industrialists since there was no question of Andhra Pradesh being divided, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that Congress leaders should refrain from making statements on the issue at this juncture.

Mr Diwakar Reddy also said that he saw nothing wrong in KCR’s meeting industrialists, since anyone was free to meet anyone in a democracy.
