Acharya: Chiru, Cherry's magnanimity or Hypocrisy
Mega Star Chiranjeevi got a huge shock when his much-anticipated film Acharya, directed by Koratala Shiva, released amidst huge expectations, turned out to be the biggest disaster in his career. Even Kortala Shiva who got the reputation a 100% success rate as the director couldn't save the film and the newfound stardom of Mega Power Star Ram Charan following the sensation of RRR across the country could power the movie. There is no denying the fact that Chiranjeevi's unnecessary meddling into the story and undue interference in the screenplay and direction during the shoot forcing Koratal Shiva to elevate scenes pertaining to Ram Charan, impacted the film in a deadly manner. The film suffered huge losses and left the distributors and exhibitors high and dry.
Sometime back distributor of Acharya wrote a strong letter to Chiranjeevi revealing how Acharya left them in losses. During the last few days, reports are coming that Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan are planning to return Rs 20crs of their remuneration to compensate the distributors for the losses. Earlier reports came that director Koratala Shiva acquired Acharya rights for a premium of Rs 4crs and so Niranjan Reddy is not responsible for settling the losses of the distributors. But the tall claims of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan returning Rs 20crs of their remuneration is shocking all the right-thinking movie lovers.
Movie lovers are angrily questioning who Chiru and Cherry are fooling? They are reminding everyone that during the Acharya pre-release event and during the promotions, producer Niranjan Reddy boasted proudly that Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan did not receive a single penny as remuneration. Now when they did not receive even a single penny as the remuneration for Acharya, where is the question of the father and son duo returning the remuneration. Did only Chiranjeevi not receive remuneration or even Ram Charan. If both did not receive remuneration, then father-son due returning back Rs 20 Crs is a big joke.
If Ram Charan received remuneration, how much did he receive, and out of which, how much he is returning? The same applies to Chiranjeevi. Mega camp and the media supporting the mega family and its compound are planting stories singing praises of Mega Star Chiranjeevi and his son Mega Power Star Ram Charan. This may sound as music to the ears of mega fans but movie lovers' and peoples' memory is not that short. They are sharing videos of Niran Reddy boasting that Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan did not receive even a single penny.
The media should come out of his mega bhajana mode and start questioning the mega camp and ask strongly as to whom are Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan and the entire mega camp fooling. Are they trying to promote their fake generosity and at the same time turn Koratala Shiva into the scapegoat shifting the entire blame on him for the Acharya fiasco? This exposes Chiru and Cherry's hypocrisy and not magnanimity in the entire debacle of Acharya.
